mercury 60 tilt and trim

hi all,
having some problems my tilt and trim stopped working over night! now when in press the buttons on the stick all i can hear is the relay in the engine ticking, nothing happens to the motor though!! any ideas???????

If the motor will not run either way but clicks both ways you have a bad motor but its hard to figure out without a year or serial number as the have used several different wiring systems over the years.
