My up till now reliable 6hp merc fourstroke trolling motor suddenly started burning oil/blwoing smoke. with the ythrottle wide open I am getting 13-150 psi on a compression tester. I did wonder if I had a stuck ring or maybe I have broken a ring/gouged the bore. I haven't pulled anything apart yet. Out of interest I had a look on ebay to see what a replacement piston and rings would set me back and strangely there were none on there? Do people rebore the jugs on these things and are oversize pistons available? I am beginning to think not? Thanks in advance for any advance
