Hey y’all(Texas), I have a 78’ mercury 80hp 800 model 2 stroke. Done the impeller, impeller seals, complete carb rebuild. Did a pressure test at 10psi on lower unit for around 5 minutes and held. Have ran it previously after doing all of this work and drained oil already due to suspecting a small leak to see if it was milky, it was not. Put new oil in and have ran it on muffs in the driveway for 30mins/hour yesterday after installing a new starter because I could hear the old one going out. Well today I was fidgeting with some screws near the lower unit that I thought I had mixed up and dropped the unit like a milliliter and some fluid started coming out near the front of the unit where it joins with the mid section(joint where it drops). Smells like gas and oil but not gear lube and I don’t suspect it to be but I was wondering what could be the cause of this. Previous to me owning it it had not been ran in 10 years and I still haven’t taken it out because I’m doing some fiberglass work on my boat. The thing starts and runs great on the muffs, I mean excellent lol. But I’m wondering if this is normal. Some of the stuff was a blueish tint and had a slight milky mess look to it. I’m betting it’s not a lower unit problem but maybe this is just 2 stroke exhaust fluid. The thing hasn’t been ran hard yet so I am also skeptical that could help clear the exhaust because I noticed it is leaking out some old mud from the exhaust ports. I just don’t want to push it hard in the driveway to clear this out. I looked beneath the carbs and doesn’t seem like they are leaking if so not very much at all. It wasn’t a lot but it wasn’t just a drop so I’m not sure what to think of this. There is also some of the fluid you can see in that exhaust port hole ( I’m guessing what that hole is)
