Guys,
I am trying to find a plug wire set for a merc 850 thunderbolt ignition, serial # 4297882 (1975 model). There is a Sierra 22" universal set on here, PN 18-5229, but I can find a picture of the dist. cap side to see if they have the screw type connectors. Going to the Sierra (now Teleflex Marine) site, this set doesn't even come up on a search, and my email got bounced back, budget cuts with the tough economy possibly
. Long story short, is this kit suitable for my model, or can you guys direct me to a better site or brand? I have spent several hours searching numerous suppliers, and oldmerc.com doesn't have a kit, and they are expensive to by one-by-one. Lastly, are the screw type connectors crimp type, solder type, etc. if they are not already put on when I buy them, looked into buying a roll of wire and make the wires myself if that would be more cost effective.
