Hey all,
Really need some help here, I've been using a 2008 Mercury 9.9 fourstroke to troll for Salmon and Walleye. I had an issue with the motor stalling out after it ran for a bit. So I ordered a carb kit, cleaned the carb and replaced float, needle valve and gaskets. Also replaced fuel filter, spark plugs and gas line from tank to motor.
The motor runs off the main tank and I haven't experienced any issues with the main motor.
So I'm looking for some guidance here, both times its happened its almost exactly after running for 2.5 hours, very strange that the timing is within minutes when it stalled both times. I thought maybe fuel pump, but squeezing the primer bulb doesn't assist and the motor still dies.
I noticed today that while I was trolling just before it died the motor increased RPM's and slowed on its own a little with no input on the throttle by me.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Really has me stumped...
Thanks!
