Hi everyone:
I have a new to me 1998 Mercury 9.9HP 4-stroke with a manual start. Is there no choke on this engine? It takes about a dozen wickedly hard pulls to get it started. And is there anyway to increase rpms while it idles to warm it up without putting the tiller handle in gear? Of course, on my main Mercury engine, I push in the key to engage the choke and push in the throttle only button on the gear shift to rev it up in neutral. Sorry for the newbie questions.
Thanks so much,
Mike
