Hello all,<br /><br />I'm a newbie to boating and have a couple very simple questions.<br /><br />One I was wondering the year of my engine, it is a mercury 900 and the serial number is 7111715, I think it's a 1985 but have not seen any year charts that have serials starting with a 7.<br /><br />I am using the original throttle shifter/ignition and was wondering what the button on the top of it behind the shifter is for?<br /><br />Thanks all!<br />-hazy
