Mercury Autoblend

I purchased an old cheep boat with a 1985 Merc 200. The Oil Injection was disabled and I now Mix 50 to 1. I am looking to use an autoblend system to replace the original injection system. I heard it was designed for Up to 115 HP will it handle the demand of 115 hp and maintain the 50 to 1 ratio. I feal mixing 50 gal of gas in a tank doesnt provide a definite mixture. Any comments are helpfull.

cgarg25942,<br /><br />I wouldn't. There is a reason it says it will handle up to a 115. There is a BIG difference between 115 and 200 ponies.<br /><br />The autolube systems were not very popular. They had a tendency to melt engines.<br /><br />If the engine is nice and sound, I would work on reactivating the oil injection.

Hello<br /> listen to djohns, even if he is a master of the understatement dont even think about auto blend. I have heard of some other companies that maket a system similar. I dont trust them either. autoblend was an idea that coulda worked but did not. OMC had a system the mixed 100/1 in the fuel tank. did not work well either.<br /> good luck and keep posting

You guys are great so many answers so Fast. Of course they werent the answers I wanted. So Far I am continueing to mix the oil at 50 to one. Depending on parts availablility. I will probably reinstall the oil injection eventually.<br />Any other comments are welcome thanks.

If you can talk to the previous owner, I would ask him why he disconnected it!! There is a plastic gear on the crank shaft that sometimes fails on these motors! Im going to take the injection off my 150 because it is an 87 and I do not trust it any more! Just mix the oil and fuel in 5 gal cans and then pour it in!<br /><br />LubeDude
