Testing a boat today to possibly buy, when got it on plane it began beeping rapidly approximately 5 or 6 times then quit. When throttled down it does not beep, it idles fine, runs fine, but when you get on plane at about 4to 5000 RPM it begins to beep. Could it just be the oil cap sensor or a bigger problem. the boat has set for approximately 1 1/2 years before I got it going today. Thanks for any replies.

What engine are you talking about? Solid beep is temp and intermittent is oil.

Different engines have different systems. Need that info.

That would be a oil alarm.

Get WillieBeRight or Silvertip, or Clams Canino to walk you through the process. If yours is like the son's '95 150 you have two pressurized oil systems, one in the boat and another in the engine and it has the low oil sensor.
