Hi,<br /><br /><br />I am trying to find a float for a carburetor that I believe was made by Tillotson for Mercury Marine (can someone verify this for me?). The carburetor number is BC1-C. The Mercury outboard is year model 1980, 25 HP, serial number is 5972598, and I believe the the Mercury part number for the float is either 1399-8139 or 1399-8655. <br /><br />Perhaps someone knows of a way to retrofit another float into the carb? I am hoping to find someone that knows about these carbs, that can help me find the part. <br /><br />Not a Tillotson. Made by Merc. I imagine they outsourced the foat, so maybe something else might fit, but I have no idea what. Is there a manufacturer embossed in the plastic? You need the 8655. I don't have info on availability, but if Merc can't get you one, about your only choice is a used one. Good luck.
