mercury classic fifty info

Where would I find info on the mercury classic fifty 45hp engine. I'm almost positive that it's from the 80's, but I can't find info on it anywhere. Also could anyone give me any idea as to the reliability of these engines as well as their strengths and weaknesses?<br />Thanks<br />Garrett

Hi Garrett,<br />Its a 86-89. The ser. no. is on the swivel bracket,also stamped on the powerhead.<br />Reliability = excellent<br />Strengths = smooth runner-all speeds,easy on gas.<br />Weakness = 44 cu. in. motor not a lot of low end tourqe.
