I've been looking around for a fuel bulb assembly for my '89 mercury black max and can't seem to find the exact thing I'm looking for. Can someone help me find the full assembly for my merc? I would like to find a fuel bulb with the fuel lines. Seems I can only find a bulb and I'd have to buy fuel lines separate. Would like the oem parts. Thanks!

I wouldn't be so sure that Mercury even makes a primer bulb. Attwood kits would server your purpose wouldn't they?

Think it matters much if you take off the factory clips and use fuel line hose clamps?

You have a permanent fuel tank? If so, hell no it doesn't matter. I might be wrong, but I always viewed the quick connects to be for portable tanks or reserve bladders or the such. Butt, Academy has Attwood kits with OEM specific quick connects http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/attw...57?N=574973169 This what your looking for?

Those aren't the connections I have but basically what I'm looking for. I think the attwood models are the closest I'm going to get. Mercury does make a fuel bulb assembly but it comes with those quick connect pieces. Mine attaches to my motor with the ones that you push in and twist to lock into place. I'm having some issues with my motor that I'm guessing it's fuel relayed and I'm going to rule out the primer bulb. I bought a new one last year but it was just the cheapo wally world one.

I would cut and hose clamp a new bulb in just to rule the bulb out.Plus it would make easier to change to a spare on the water because they will eventually crap out.

I ordered an attwood fuel bulb but honestly I don't think that's my problem. I'm going to continue my post on the forum to hopefully diagnose the problem.
