We have a 1956 Mercury Mark 6 Comet Twin 6hp and the fuel line we currently are using is 1/4 inch oil line. Is that a good size or is it too small of line? Does it matter if it is oil line or gas line or is their a differnce?

For that size engine 1/4" should be ok. I would prefer to see 5/16", but that's just me being paranoid. :D:D:D

Yes, it matters. Hose designed for petrol is usually more resistant to alcohol than just straight oil line.

Use a 1/4" GAS line.Approved gas line won't delaminate because of ethanol.
Ethanol will melt your oil line and clog up the carb and fuel pump.Change it!!!!
