I came across a dealer selling a 2-stroke Mercury called a 25ELH Hi Thrust. Does anyone know what a "Hi Thrust" Merc is? I thought the "H" in the ELH designated meant tiller.

Yes, the H is for hand or tiller controls, as opposed to remote controls.

Are we talking about the current model year? 2003?

According to the Mercury web site product info, the 15hp has a 2.00 gear ratio, while the 20 and 25 hp have a 2.25 ratio, giving it a bit more thrust.

Yes, these are 2003's. The dealer is www.3riversmarine.com. They list different motors for sale with many of them, even 30hp's, called "hi thrust". I'm pretty sure the "H" in a Merc model means tiller handle. I'm trying to figure out if someone at 3riversmarine screwed up and thought it meant hi thrust or if here is such a motor. I know some low hp motor, used for sailboat kickers, are hi thrust but 30hp?
