I'm beginning to get frustrated! I can't find out what year my merc is to get parts.I called my local Mercury dealer and they said I must have a part number not the serial number. Well, I'm asking, doesn't SN mean Serial Number? If anyone can help me, the SERIAL NUMBER is 3913808. I believe it is a mid70's engine

Your motor is a 1974 model. What parts are you looking for? The Marine MegaMall sell some parts for that motor like impellors, and control cables. If they dont have what you are looking for you can try www.mercruiserparts.com and they will have everything you will need for that motor.
