So I got 2 manuals and they are both part number 90-830234R04 Released May 2003. But one is white and the other is black. Is there a difference? I think the white one may be preliminary but it doesn't say that anywhere. Seems the only difference i can find is the color.

Yeah, no difference, just a marketing thing. If the revision is the same, the information inside is the same. Just a later print run.

I have a white one and a black one that look like your black one with the picture of the out board on the front.
