Mercury MCM D transmission serial number 11815

I'm trying to find a service manual for the above transmission. Anybody out there gotta link. ? If its on here somewhere please advise I've looked and can't find anything here or on the net. Pic is not the best but all I've got.

looks like a GM block thats been underwater.outdrive appears to be an Alpha type. most likely manual #6 for the drive.

Mercury transmission serial number 11815 Model MCM D. I've looked all over on here and on the net looking for a service manual covering these transmissions. Does anyone out there know the one and where I can get it? Not the best pic but here it is.

Mercury transmission serial number 11815 Model MCM D. I've looked all over on here and on the net looking for a service manual covering these transmissions. Does anyone out there know the one and where I can get it? Not the best pic but here it is.

Ayuh,... The manuals coverin' the TR/ TRS drives should cover the transmission as well...

One would think that, but it doesn't. Only covers the drive and transom shield, not the transmission.

Some info as to the year of the boat might narrow down the search.

manual 1 sections 6 D,E,F,G have transmissions. might be one of those

My apologies for the duplicate post, couldn't figure out how to delete one of them. The engine is missing the serial number tag. Tranny serial number is 11815 model model MCM D stamped right on it. Would better pics of the tranny help now that the motor is out. Its a 1976 Fiberform.

If the transmission is what you are after, then pics of the transmission is what you need, not everything around it. That serial number is nothing like any Merc serial numbers, so hard to say who's it is. Have a feeling it's the Merc transmission. Being a 76 makes it easy, it has to be in THIS service manual.

Why does the block appear to have been underwater? If its the rust that's years of sitting in the rain.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other, doesn't really matter at this point. It's still junk.

It is that, old motor is already at the scrapyard, was just curious how a assumption it had been under water had been made. Will post some pics of what's going on.

Here's the ID plate off the Transmission housing. I get the boat got wet. But when someone says it was underwater I want to know why. Theres a lot of difference between damage to the rest of the boat, caused by being underwater and being in the rain. Only trying to learn more about my new mone3y pit.

Easy bud, don't go off the deep end. With all that rust it looks like it was under water. No one can look at one blury picture and say for sure if it was or not, look at the rest of the boat. Does it look like it was under water??????

We also get what transmission it is, what do you want to know about it?

The motor only is out. Have tried transmission in forward and reverse and drive doesn't want to slide off. If its not budging its probably all gummed up inside. Any suggestions. Thank you.

The pictures show it's a TR, He gave us the year in reply #9 and I gave him a link to the manual in reply #10 after that, it's been all about rain or under water.
