I have my '86 Mercury Blackmax 150 completely apart to replace a piston. I would like to completely remove the oil injection and move to pre-mix as I absolutely do not trust the oil injection and would rather have the piece of mind that I know its getting oil with pre-mix.

So can I just remove the plastic gear from the crank shaft and install a block-off plate where the oil pump was on the block and then install a plug where the pressure output is for the oil tank? Is that it? Am I missing anything?

Leave it on if its not damaged. Makes up some volume in tha crankcase. Get tha block off plate with tha "stem" on it. It will keep tha brass bushing in tha case half in place. Lose tha warnin' module and tha idle stabilizer if ya haven't done that yet.................
