Yesterday I purchased a 2002 ProLine 230 CC w twin Merc 150 EFI engines (2002 models). I noticed after running it for about 4 hours yesterday upon checking the bilge, a quantity of injection oil in the bilge; I had fully tilted the motors up to trailer it home some 70 miles. I had no problem with the motors during the 4 hours of use. My basic question is could the act of tilting the motors all the way up have allowed injection oil to run out of the motor mounted oil bottle? I have read the thread on this type of issue discussed below for a carberated engnine. Has anyone else had this occur?

The oil tanks on the V-6s are sealed. The oil tanks on the inlines are vented. The oil in your bilge should't have come from either motor or either tank. Perhaps a jug of oil spilled, otherwise you have a leak you need to find. It could be a hose or a tank, probably a tank down in the bilge and not on the motor. Oil from the motor would show on the motorwell.

Yeh, thanks for the comeback. I talked with the previous owner who said he had overfilled the tanks and spilled into the bilge. I will keep an eye on it.
