Replacing oil pump on my 2000 Optimax 150 due to leaky pump. Now I see a few of the lines coming out of the pump are leaking as well, 2 at the pump end connection and one at the engine connection. I have removed the lines, trimmed the ends a hair and reattached with new ties, but they still leak. The lines seem to be just worn out or something. Here's the rub. I can only find these lines precut at around $27 each! WTF! Anybody know where a person can purchase these lines in bulk at a reasonable price?

Re: Mercury Optimax 150 oil pump lines

Okay, I have purchased new oil hoses, $25 each, and am in the process of installing them along with the new pump. It appears as if the old hoses have splits along the inside preventing a proper seal. So what I have here is a leaky pump and leaky hoses. Is this just normal maintainence on a 13 year old engine or is there something else going on causing these items to fail?
