Mercury or Yamaha

I have a 2003 mercury 225 4stk,is this motor 100% yamaha? and is the hours used stored in the ecm and can be pulled by the dealer.

100% couldn't say, but yes, if it has an ECM, the dealer can hook up and find the hours.

The powerhead (engine) Is Yam. The lower unit is Merc.

Not sure about the 225, but the first of the 4 stroke 50s was a collaboration between Merc and Yam. Merc supplies the lower unit and cylinder head and Yam did the block, pistons etc.
