When I tried to forward the throttle on my 2000 Mercury 200HP outboard motor, it hesitated. When I moved the throttle back and forth few times, suddently it accelerated. Once it accellerated, I was able to run at high speed. I have cleaned the carburators and replaced the sparkplugs. What could be the problem? A friend told me it could be a "sensor" but he forgot what it is! He had a similar problem on his 2001 90HP Mercury outboard. Thanks.
