Mercury outboard 225hp 2001

I bought a 2001 mercury optimax 225 and install it on my boat but the mechanic replace the small plastic piece that makes the acceleration from the front controler ( that has an electronic commection of three wire to it) but every time i connect it the motor start failing and sound relly bad. If you unplug the wire to rhe part start working perfenc but with no acceleration whatsoever.

! i would go back to the mechanic and see if he can fix it, if you cant do that,or he wont help you fix the problem i guess your on your own.
2.You should go to Seawaymarine .com and enter your serial # of your motor and try to find your motor, and see if you need parts for the remote controller.,.
3. Wait a minute, is this a old motor that has not been run in a long time? If this motor is EFI Four stroke it absolutely will not run on old gas, pump out the old gas take it to the auto parts store for disposal correctly,dont dump it on the ground man.
4.If this motor has not been run in a long time there is a long list of things you need to do.
