mercury prop bent?

merc 15/blackmax 9 X 10.5 <br /><br />have any of you guys heard of a new prop that was bent right out of the box? <br /><br />after my motor rebuild, i went to put the new prop and twisted it by hand; it had a HELL of a wobble. I didn't even run the motor with it on. Instead, I ordered a new propshaft. Now the new shaft is on, and it still wobbles significantly. It also seats too deeply in the l/u. <br /><br />I put the old one on, which seats correctly, and it's poker straight. (the hub, that is) This all started when I hit a sandbar in my inflatable and spun the prop. <br /><br />I got it new from doug russell. I am now wondering if Quicksilver refurb's them and sells them as new...<br /><br />any thoughts?

if is a michigan wheel , had same problem on a volvo I/O. right number wrong hub.

If it seats too deeply, do you have the thrust washer installed properly?

I must, because the old prop fits perfectly. Appears to be a re-man. Do they re-man them??

Some Props have the Thrust Washer built-in to the Prop,..... I'd say your Old prop is 1 of these......<br /><br />Your New Prop probably Needs a Thrust Washer.........Which Would/ Could be a Seperate Piece.......
