Hello all - new to the post (today). I am replacing the starter solenoid on 1994 Mariner/mercury 115 hp. The replacement part from Sierra has a S and I by the two smaller posts - original solenoid coming off has no letters. Can someone tell me what the S&I are? For those two smaller posts i have a yellow w red wire on one side, and 3 black ground wires that were attached to the other side - just want to make sure i attach them to correct side?

Second question - There was a small black jumper wire about 3 inches long that was attached to the small post w two other black wires, but NO IDEA what it was attached to? I removed the wires last week, and counted each color by post etc - when i removed the two bolts this am that hold the solenoid in place, I noticed ithe small jumper wire laying loose among other wires...could it grounded under the solenoid by one of the bolts? I cannot see anything else that it would bolt to- and didn't remove any addl nuts.

Appreciate any guidance anyone can provide. Tried to upload pics but keeps saying invalid photo?

Double check with the supplier.----Not sure if I would use that on my motor.
