Is there a simple way to confirm the oil injection pump is operating properly?
My boat, like several others, is getting on in age, and if there's a quick
"pre-launch" checklist type thing to inspect it could sure save a person
some serious headache down the road. I suppose the safest way is to
just block it off and go to pre-mix, but barring that, thoughts?

Same boat. Same year. :)

Look so the arm on pump moving when throttling up. Look for smoke when engine cold and auto enritchiner in (engine get to fat mixture).

Otherwise if engine starts to run like newer before. turn it of and check in the oil container, so it using oil.

On older sowmobiles with seperat oil injection, some prefer to mix in tank and to not use separt oil pump. Just to be safe.

Regards from a sunny south Sweden !!!! (but not like Florida) :)

I'd prefer to mix my own, actually, but from what I've read, the block-off kit is a pretty big job.
Yeah, I took her out today and the first thing I checked for was extra smoke at start up and it
was there. I also verified that I used some oil on the way out, so I guess I have to assume all
is well.

Different temps our 2 "souths" I'm sure, but man I'd love to come visit yours. Just from looking
at pictures of the place, it sure does look like beautiful country!

Yes it?s a little dangerous with this seperatly oil inj.. And on this engine you seaze the hole kit if pump gone, becaurse it inject to engine in one line. Happily, oilpumps not often dies if you just have oil in the container, clean oil and of right sort. One thing to think of if you get air in lines sometime, to fill up with oil. Othervise the pump, if inlucky not pumping.

Lived in Florida back in 92 (Jacksonw, Daytona, Miami, Key West, FT. Lau., Tampa, Clearwater, Largo, Palm H, and Orl. etc.) . Been to NASA some times.

Well now it has been very close to your weather here, high humid. and 20 degrees C in night and 30C in daytime. But it is only for 1-2 month.

Can be quite big differece between north and south Sweden (around 2000 km long). Was up to a friend in Noth Norway last weeks, and now you have the midnight-sun. So no dark nights :) . Biggest difference here in Sweden, is that you have real 4 seasons (summer, autum.,winter and spring).
