This motor is on a 18 ft Skeeter and have enjoyed on water without any problems. I was on the water and on plane moving along very good when it just idle'd down and now will not plane out. Things I have done myself:
1. new plugs
2. had compression checked - said it was ok -
3. new fuel line and primer bulb
4. drained gas and replaced with new gas
5. new fuel lines
6. cleaned carbs - best I could with plenty of carb cleaner and a air hose

Also, the boat will start and idle with no problems.....can idle all day if I wanted too. The boat is an 85 model, not quite sure bout the motor, am assuming it is the same.

If anyone could please give me some advice on what I could have possibly missed would be greatly appreciated. And if any other info is needed, please ask and I will reply ASAP.

The first thing you need to do is find out weather its a ignition problem or fuel issue. Go to any auto parts store and get a spark tester. Get the one you cand adjust the gap with. find out what cylinders are firing. if all then you need to look at the feul pump. first things first. See if that gets you going in the right direction.
