Mercury XR4 Cleaning??

Hey guys...

What's the best way to clean my 150HP outboard?

I had an oil line break this weekend and there is oil all over my motor. I didn't notice the leak until I was reloading on to the trail. Lifted the motor and oil/water dumped out all over the place. Took it home and notice the bad line after the oil reservoir.

So far I've been told to hose her down without getting water into the carbs. (use a mild detergant)

Any favorites out there?

Disconnect the battery, and use Simple Green like John's recommenedation or Dawn Dishwashing Liquid. I don't know what's different about Dawn but it is recommended by all the guy's I know that build engines and it does work better than any of the other brands.
