Took my fianc?, dog and "Ursula" to fish San Diego Bay for bass. Was a very decent day. Launched at 10 and fished until 2:45. Started out fishing the shoal by the entrance to Harbor Island. The current was pretty strong as we were fishing an out going tide that was going to have over a 5 foot swing. Second cast on a chartruse fish trap swim bait Jen nailed a nice 1-1/2 pound class Spotted Bay Bass. We spent a bit working there fishing in about 22' of water for no love. So I took her down to one of my spots in South Bay. First cast for me and I picked up a scrappy fighting little Calico. We spent the bulk of the day drifting here using chartruse 4" swimbaits and 4" curly tail grubs in chartruse. When the wind picked up we fished the Coronado Bridge and picked up our last 5 fish. Aside from knocking them silly with a mix of fish from 10-16 inches, was watching this Pelican pester Max out boxer. Grand total was 50 Spotties and 1 Calico. This has been the best trip so far on "Ursula". She's finally running right and I'm thrilled. Here are some pictures.
