thanks for the info on disabling vro oiling system on my 1995 70 evinrude. motor starts flawlessly and combustion seems crisper.Best of all no more old smoky on start-up.this forum is a true asset to us anal retentive boaters.only in america..

VROs are only one bad idea by omc, the other is the FICHT.. brought OMC to its knees, peice of crap...

you have to also bare in mind that a lot of these oil injection concepts are epa driven designs aimed at exhaust emission issues.I was apprised of this by at least two current dealers of johnson / evinrude.If all oil injection components are working well,all is well. However,it seems that in some applications they are prone to having problems.
