I have a Quicksilver 3000 hooked to my Mariner 75 hp '95. I can press the throttle only button and advance the lever forward to idle up and warm the engine but the transmission always engages even with the button pushed in. I can push the button in, move the lever BACKWARDS and it stays in neutral and idles up. I have just purchased this boat from my widowed neighbor. The boat was used regularly until about 6 months ago. Does anyone have a clue what I should be looking for? I took the controller apart yesterday and everything appears to be functioning properly.
