mesuring water flow thru motor

This off season I going to replace my water pump impeller on my 77,85hp johnson I was wondering if there is a way to put some type of flow monerting system or gage I think Ive seen one on an evenrude but can't rember. if so how & ware do you install it & ware can I find the parts thanks

Not sure if your motor has tale-tale. If it does you can put a T in the waterline and run it to a water pressure gauge. But like I said I'm not sure if your motor has a tale-tale.

No tell-tale I think the only way for me to tell is thru the releif ports at the top of the exhaust housing

I think on some motors there is a plug located on the head or the side of the motor. I have a 73' 115 hp Evinrude I was thinking about keeping on my boat and I wanted a water pressure gauge and a boat mechanic told me to look for the plug. I never did because I bought another motor. Hang in there an someone will let you know if you can install one of these gauges.
