metallic gelcoat

What is the best way (if any) to repair minor chips in metallic gel coats? The metallic is still there--just the clear has been chipped. I have filled in one chip with automotive clear coat--but will have to see how long it lasts!

Try fingernail polish for small nicks & chips..
