I have had by 1969 Edinboro for 6 years now and all is very well. I still have a couple of questions that I am still stumped by.
1) Because I still have yet to procure a good cover that is rain proof, I still have to bail water. I simply connect a pump to a hose that I feel through a small hole in a "pocket" at the stern of the deck and pump water from the hull space below. My question is: How was the orginial design supposed to work? There is a drain plug at the rear of the pocket depression in the deck, but I am curious how this was suppose to work.

2) I am also looking for suggestions on how to best clean the accumulated scale from the hull. This boat is stays in a Michigan fresh water lake, but I can get the scale of traditional cleaners and elbow grease. I got the boat from a young man in Cleveland who had the boat in mint condition and I am trying my best to keep it so.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,....

On the wagon, the bow is held High, 'n the plug Out, makin' it self drainin'....
At the dock, a bilge pump is installed in the pocket, so's water can be pumped out....
Or,...
Ya go for a boat ride, 'n pull the plug, once over displacement speeds... It'll drain itself...

Welcome Merrimanr !
First off is you sure have one sweet looking Edinboro !:cool:If it's like mine you have a drain for the the above deck area and second drain for the below deck area. If you keep stored in the water you don't have a choice but to bail or pump out water. I guess you can install a pump with a float switch. But would still need to check on it from time to time. Some pics would be helpful
You should post on the MFG forum . The guys over there might like seeing some pics of her..
