Just wondering if anyone else looked at the engines last week and if so, what did you think? That GM, stupid*ss, almost 500 hp outboard thing on the back of the Intrepid? was bizarre. Also, who from iboats was down there? I know there was someone with an iboats shirt on in our display at one point...I was tied up and didn't get a chance to introduce myself.

No, that's more of a inland show and the kind of stuff we do is much more offshore oriented.

Re: Miami Boat Show

Hello there....I couldn't help but notice someone whose user name is Tohatsu Guru...and THAT is the person I am looking for!!! I am wondering if I could bother you with (what you will probably consider) a stupid question...well, more like a parts compatibility/interchangeability question actually...Regarding a control box for a 25hp Tohatsu, 2003 model, 4 stroke....do you know of any other make/brands that would work/fit other than Tohatsu? Specifically, do you know if a Suzuki remote electronic control box part number 67200-98J00 would work without much (if any) adjustment/alteration? Forgive me...I did read your list of disclosures, but I could not find the answer to this question in my owner's manual, and we don't have a dealer within 100 miles of here....but I do have SOME mechanical skill, although with my Tohatsu, I have not found that to be much more necessary than keeping an eye on all of the common sense stuff and doing what I am supposed to do with ANY motor......so far, so good. I love it. Anyway, any advice or direction than anyone can provide would be most appreciated. As you can see, I am brand new to the forum, so please pardon the newbie until I get myself more familiar with everything......Thanks again.

Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha use the same cable and have the same throw so the boxes are compatible. All of the goodies in them like the ignition switch, wiring harness, etc are not going to be correct. Crap can always be made to work, but you will be better off in the long run if you use the correct OEM item to begin with....It inspires confidence that things will work:)
