The boat is a 1984 Mark Twain Costa Brava 25 foot with a single 260 Mercruiser. It's deep and heavy.
The difference is even greater than I thought it would be. The boat did not get up well and over revved with the Michigan 15x15 3 blade. It had a lot of slippage. You could hear and feel it. The Solas 14 3/4x15 4 blade planes quicker, handles better (especially docking), and brought the rpm's down from 5000 to 4500. I haven't checked the top speed with a GPS yet but it seems better. My speedometer does not work very consistently so does not tell me a lot.
I can say it was a very good choice of prop for this boat, I'm happy.
