Hey All,

I'm looking for a nice safe harbor w/ transient slips for a weekend stay. I have a 2 & 4 year olds that would be going along. So the harbor would need to cater to kids somewhat. I hail out of the salt river in Lk St. Clair. These are the local ones i'm aware of:

Bridge Harbour Marina (a bit of a hike for the little ones, so i'm not sold yet)
St. Clair Boat Harbor (but not so kid friendly from what i can tell)
Metro Beach Metropark (been here, done this)

Are there other local spots? I need to keep it on the closer side as the kids are short on patience... lol

thanks all!

This seems like it could be a decent research tool.

The current and near future requirements for visiting(and returning from) Canadian ports would have me crossing off previous favorites such as Chatam, Wallaceburg and Sarnia.

I know you said Metro was a "been there/done that" thing but w/ young kids it sure is tough to beat for the variety of activities available. We spent many enjoyable times there when my kids were younger. As did my parents when my sisters and I were much much much younger. If you can get away on weekdays it is(was) completely different than the wild weekend crowds.

Be careful introducing youngsters to boating though...it can be life altering and habit forming. At last count, between my parents, my 2 sisters and myself we have 17 boats of various sizes and configurations. We blame Dad.
