I bought a prop here from IBoat. I put in the in for my boat and bought based on their recommendation. The prop/hub they sent do not seem to work properly. While I've not done this before, I'm pretty sure it's not me. When the polyurethane sleeve drops into the hub it protrudes about 1/2 inch. It seems to seat fully. The instructions say that it's supposed to actually be recessed a bit which would make sense as that's how it would interface with the thrust washer. When it didn't fit, I looked up the recommendation from Michigan wheel, and they recommend the same thing. My boat is a 2003 VP 5.0GL with the SX outdrive. Comparing the old vs. new prop, the hub depth of the new prop appears significantly shallower than the old prop, by maybe a full inch.
Emailing iBoat and they of course say they'll get back to me in their own sweet time.
Prop and hub kit they recommend:
Memphis Wheel
prop - 992005
hub kit - 205
So any idea what's wrong? Pretty sure that hub will not fit into that prop, but seeing how both iBoats and the mfg's site recommend the same thing, I'm at a bit of a loss.
