mid 70s 85 hp wont stay running

I am looking at a mid 70s probably or maybe newer 85 hp Johnson outboard that will start and run for about 2 or three minutes and then die. could this be electrical or does it sound more like a fuel issue

Could be either. Motor will have to be checked out.

Agreed, it could be either. But more likely fuel, if it really is a mid-70's. Might not say that if it is pre-'73.
