This post is to let folks know that if your motor loses power, drops rpm's, acts sluggish after running well, one of the first things to check is the fuel pump. It doesnt matter if the diaphram is brand new, as I found out the hard way.
I chased boogers for 3 days on my 86 force 125. Brand new fuel pump with only 3 Hrs running time so it couldnt be that. Well, thats what it was. Caused me a lot of grief and felt pretty stupid too when you consider how easy it is to check the diaphram.
After thinking about it, its understandable when you think about the shelf life of rubber - composite components, no telling how long some of there kits have been on some ones shelf. From now on I will be buying from some one I know that turns over a LOT of parts just to make sure that mine is a fresh one. Maybe this might help some one out there that has this problem - from now on this will be one of the FIRST things I check.
