86 mariner 75hp 4cyl. 1 broken head bolt... slight water comming out of broken bolt (broke half way thickness of head.. slight water comming out of where broken bolt. and where the head and block meet... cleaned carbs 2 hours ago... runs good. when i shut motor off about 5 minutes later the bottom carb has milky gas/oil laying before air jet? it is before the black thing in the middle of the carb towards air box cover... does you guys think this is water comming out of water jacket, running down the cylinder through the butterfly on carb and leaking out? head bolts are rusted dont want to try to take them off until offseason, winter.. if this is where itis comming from do you think i will bend a rod running it for a few more months.. motor does have a sight sputter at idle but barely at all. she does run good. oh the reason i cleaned the carbs was becuase of this and i the motor/boat sat for about 5 years..been out with it 3 times. broken bolt between cyl 2 and 3

I suspect that bolt is a 1/4 -20 with a 7/16 head. It is NOT a head bolt, no cyl head to remove, that is a water jacket cover, and yes, they DO have a nasty habit of breaking if you hold your mouth wrong.

A water leak there should not affect performance unless it is shorting a spark plug.

Your 'milky fuel' at the front side of the carb is a separate problem.

Not sure about your "black thing in the middle of the carb towards air box cover" is there any possibility of your posting a picture?

Re: milky ish

got 1 more question that has nothing to do with the milky ish... upper carb and lower carb idle screw out 2 1/4 tuns.. lower one looks lik it is out a turn more. why woul on be flush and the other be out a little more when they are turned the same amount?

Re: milky ish

All depends on how the tap was started, first thread may have started cutting a half turn sooner or later.

Slight fuel leak from lower carb could be float a hair high or needle/seat seal not perfect, not flooding enough to notice a performance difference, possibly may be a slight difference in idle mixture setting.

With the carb inverted, blow into the fuel inlet to feel if there is ANY leakage past the needle/seat.
