Milky oil in gear case

Hi again.I was trying to figure out why my 1982 50hp evinrude wound`t start{found shear key broken}parts on order. Hopefully thats all it is.I found water in gear case{very very milky} Does anyone know what could cause that.Is it something i could do myself{i have a clymer manual}.Do i need special tools.Thank you

Can do yourself. You are leaking water into the gear case.
Follow the instructions carefully.
