Power steering pump has milky oil. Power steering fluid noted at oil cooler, is milky, probably due to a cracked cooler. My bad 89 mercruiser 3.0 needs replacing. Will a replacement engine fix my power steering as well?

The motor has nothing to do with the power steering other then its what turns the pump. If you fix the cooler, and the pump is not hurt then it should work normally. If the steering already had problems then the new motor won't fix that issues

Thanks for your reply, my motor has poor dynamic, compression, hard to start, runs rough, shaking bad, with just rebuilt carb installed, with points swapped for electronic . also told, there is excessive crankcase pressure at idle. I think it needs a rebuild, but short on time, and $ now, hence the swap.I guess I'll have to take power steering gear off mine, correct the bad parts, and install on new motor, as it doesn't have one on. it Thx.
