The oil in my trim pump looks suspiciously pearl-colored. I'm told it shouldn't look like that. If it is in fact contaminated with water, what is the most likely culprit? I did notice that one of the hydraulic arms on my outdrive had a broken metal ring where the arm goes into the cylinder - it's just loose sliding up and down the arm. Is that likely it? (alpha one, gen II drive w/ merc 4.3)
Second question: Is there any way to tell if water has ever been in the bellows where the coupler/u-joints are? All these posts on this forum is making me nervous. How much will a professional mechanical inspection run?
Thanks!
