Minn Kota All Terrain foot control steering problem ..... any advice for me?

All Terrain 55AT will not turn left all the way, sometimes will turn further than other times but never more than 9:30 - 10 o'clock position. The cables seem ok, there's no slack and the cables move smoothly on the track, no visible issues with the pedal. But ... occasionally when pressing the pedal there's a "bump" that feels like something was binding and turned loose and it makes an audible click. Any tips for me before I tear into it? Troubleshooting advice greatly appreciated!

Before opening it up, search on line for a break down diagram first. That way you will have an idea what could be the problem. Just a suggestion.
