I am looking at purchasing a bow mount 2003 Minn Kota PowerDrive 55lb trolling motor and in a separate sale, a Minn Kota Co-Pilot.

What I am wondering is will the Co-Pilot hook up to and work on the 2003 PowerDrive NON-V2?

The Trolling motor asking is $200.00 and the Co-Pilot asking is 100, Are they worth those prices?

They will be on my 82 Starcraft 18' SuperSport, I think I am towing the line with only a 55lb thrust motor on a 12volt system but its "in my price range!"

Thanks Much!

I've got a 74lbs power drive (non V2 at least it doesn't say it anywhere on the unit) with the co pilot. Is it worth it? Yes! I've never even used the foot control for mine. I think you just need to make sure the conections are the same. I believe the V2 units have a different size/shape connection. I don't believe the newer Ipilot will work with it though.

I don't know if the unit you are looking at is compatible. Like I stated before, check the connection size/shape

The original power drive was not a digitial unit whereas the V2 is. The interfaces (connectors) are also different.

Make sure the copilot your buying has a flat wiring connector. V2 is round. Best of luck. Rick.

:confused:I use a ap 55 with copilot on a 14 ' starcraft. I troll 4 to five hours a day.
love the copilot. You realy need an autopilot or an ipilot because you have to constantly adjust the position of the drive. I fish 10 times as much because of the auto control. The 55 will be just ok for the larger boat but you can get by. Good luck!
