Minn Kota Maxxum foot control

I have a 24V Maxxum from maybe '98 or '99 timeframe. I have the serial number but cannot find a model or year. The serial is MK JI1071616. After some testing, a friend and I have figured out the control board in the foot pedal is bad. My foot pedal has a dial for speed and mon/off/con switch. I have another friend that has a Minn Kota foot pedal that has a slider for speed. I'm wondering how interchangeable these foot pedals are. Sorry but I don't have the specifics on his model either. Anybody know if I stand a chance at swapping these pedals?

Not knowing what model the friends unit is is just one issue. The pedal must have the same connector. The fact that the friends foot pedal has a slider for speed control suggests it is a Power Drive electric steer. I doubt the two units are compatable. Unless the friends unit is also 24 volts I would not risk using it for testing purposes as you may end up buying two foot pedals.

Found a little more info on the friend's unit. You were correct Silvertip that his is a power drive electric steer. It's a 24V, but won't work for me. Looking like I'll need to buy a new control board.
