Minn Kota Power Drive Turning Problems

My Minn Kota Power Drive 65 PD will only turn left. After manually turning the head of the motor back and forth. It will now turn right, but is very slow in doing so and seems to be rather "labored". Turning left seems to work OK. Any ideas?

Disassemble and check for binding.

over time the plastic contacts ( i will call fingers, you can see them under the foot controller ) start to wear and become more pliable. i had to shim mine. now my control response time is fast. i don't recomend that you do this unless you have any mechanical aptitude.
