Minn Kota trolling motor

I have a new 40# Power Drive bow mount. Took the gear box apart to grease cause it was louder than I thought it should be when pivoting. Having trouble getting the box back together. I have the gears in their proper positions, but can't figure out how to close it up, must be some trick. Help!!!

This might help. Try the website, "trollingmotorparts.com". These folks offer schematics of many different motors on line that may show your model and what you're doing wrong. If not, I found them very courteous and helpful with answering questions.<br /><br />v/r SoonerSlim

I am taking a guess here. I have taken one apart also and could not get it pushed back together. I am no means a trolling motor mechanic nor do I know the proper terminology. <br />There as a couple of magnets on springs that need to be pulled in before the motor can go back together. Once you pull the motor apart, the springs push the magnets out, making it impossible to push teh housing together. Kinda hard to see what the problem is at first. They are near front of the motor, where the prop attaches, inside the housing. I used peice of fishing line and threaded it around the magnets to pull them in while pushing the housing together. Maybe someone knows what I'm talking about......<br />D
