minn kota trolling motor

I have a 1987 minnkota that runs fine but i have foot pedal control. it runs but i cant steer it. could it be a steering motor?

oldmil,<br /><br />Isn't this a cable type steering model?<br /><br />You should have two cables running to the head of the motor.<br /><br />The cables could be frozen.

there is no cables. it is just coiled electric wire

You should should be able to steer it with the foot pedal. Unless it is broken.

the foot pedal will run rhe motor but it will not steer
